Meet Michael Bannister BSc (Hons) ABIPDT
I have dedicated over 30 years to the art and science of working, training, and rehabilitation with dogs and horses.
My journey is rooted in a deep academic and practical understanding of animal behaviour and physical mechanics. I hold a First-Class Honours Degree in Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation—an achievement for which I was honoured with the University of Greenwich Merit Award for outstanding achievement.
This advanced background in Behavioural Rehabilitation and physical recovery, along with Advanced Handling and Learning Theory, gives me a unique, holistic perspective on canine training. I don't just look at a dog's behaviour; I understand how physical comfort, movement, and stress intersect to impact how they learn.
As an Associate Member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (ABIPDT), having qualified with a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Techniques and Organisation, my training methods are simple, structured, and highly effective.
Whether I am guiding a young puppy through their first foundations, helping a pet owner navigate basic obedience while working towards a National Pet Code certificate, or coaching more advanced competition obedience, my goal is always to build a bridge of clear communication between you and your dog.
Based at the beautiful Haresfoot Park just outside Berkhamsted, I provide a calm, premium outdoor environment where dogs can learn safely and effectively.
I look forward to welcoming you and your dog to the park.
